The Escape Room in the Human Capital Management:an application in Personnel Selection

Abstract

In response to the need for innovation in Human Resources Management, the object of this paper is to approach the concept of Escape Room. We argue the use in the staff selection processes. They are collaborative activities where participants are trapped and, to get out, they must solve a series of riddles and puzzles demonstrating their competencies. To know the use of this technique in the staff selection processes, an Escape Room design was proposed that serves as a hiring instrument for a specific position. First, a search was carried out to determine the competencies of the selected profile and, subsequently, its definition was carried out. As a last step, the Escape Room proposal was completed based on the well-known CANVAS model. It can be concluded that it is an innovative technique that allows to observe the different candidates for a job while they live a unique experience.
