Abstract

This article analyzes the innovative activity of Paraguayan MSMEs during the pandemic. A survey was conducted during the months of February to April 2021 to 360 owners and managers of MiPymes in the sectors of commerce, industry, construction and services. Pearson's Chi-square test and analysis of variance were applied for the quantitative analysis. A favorable innovative activity is evidenced in most of the indicators analyzed, where statistically significant increases stand out in aspects related to innovation carried out in companies that have received some type of support or subsidy, especially in the commercialization of new products or services with 84.6%, in changes or improvements in production processes that occurred in 91.2% of cases, and in innovation related to organization and management in 87.9% of participating companies.
