Abstract

Organizational Studies (OS) have advanced in organizational analysis from complex thinking and transdisciplinarity. Because both are elementary to understanding organizations in a context of constant change, the goal is to reflect on the importance that those two approaches have for the study of organizations. The methodology used is a documentary review to analyze certain contributions that complex thinking and transdisciplinarity have made to the organizational study. Based on this, we reflect on its relevance and the pertinence of deepening this issue. One of the contributions is the discussion about the challenge that the OS has of not conforming as a fragmented field. It is concluded that both approaches must be central in shaping an organizational paradigm that responds to the realities that are lived today.
