Entrepreneurship requires skills and competencies to materialize a business. Emotional intelligence favors taking risks, encourages creativity and innovation, as it is part of the attitude, intention, and behavior of the individual, also guides emotions, actions and thoughts for adaptation, decision making and action in the face of threats or risks. The objective was to determine the way in which emotional intelligence manifests itself in the entrepreneur. With qualitative methodology through theory based on theoretical sample and interview technique, it was obtained that entrepreneurs manifest their emotional intelligence by identifying their learning and facing difficulties when undertaking, as well as when developing personal strategies to assume adversity. It is concluded that entrepreneurs act positively by recognizing their own strengths and weaknesses, that is, self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social communication skills.
